Ioannis Katsounis

Ioannis Katsounis is a PhD Candidate and Researcher at the Department of Shipping, Trade and Transport (STT) of the Business School, University of the Aegean, Greece. Ioannis holds a BSc in Sociology from Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences (2009) and an MSc in International and European Studies from the University of Piraeus (2013). He has been working on various projects related to the socio-economic cohesion and sustainable development in Greece and the European Union. His research interests include social cohesion, sustainable development, islands’ development, maritime Sociology and Blue Economy. His PhD thesis focuses on the contribution of the Blue Economy to the cohesion and the sustainable development of the Greek island regions.
